WORKING IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO POWER
LINES
Avoid working in close proximity to power lines. If, ho -
wever, you are forced to work near power lines, the dis -
tance from them must always be at least 5 20 m
of the crane work area.
Always exercise extreme caution
when working near power lines.Ob-
serve minimum safety distances.
The minimum safety distance table
is attached to the valve rack (LEC).
Ensure that you observe the regulations of the country
you are in when working near power lines.
Electricity will always flow to ground if it is given a sui -
table path.
1. Contact the local power company if you will be working
in the immediate vicinity of overhead power lines. If
necessary, ask the power company to send an expert
to the worksite.
2. Remember - electricity does not always require direct
contact to be a hazard. High voltage electricity can
'jump' as much as 5 metres from a power line.
3. Never go near power lines! No part of the crane should
ever be allowed to go closer to overhead power lines
than the minimum safety distance - not even acciden-
tally. Familiarise yourself with the minimum safety
distance specified in local electrical safety regulations.
4. If it is difficult to comply with minimum safety distance
regulations when working, you must contact the local
power company.
CRANE PRESENTATION AND
INTENDED PURPOSE
The CR47 hydraulic crane is specifically designed for the
loading of timber. The crane may not be used for towing,
lifting general cargo or lifting personnel.
The crane can be equipped with hydraulic support legs,
which are used to mount the crane to a forest trailer or a
three-point linkage on a tractor.
WORKSITES
A worksite with a level and firm surface should be used.
Avoid working on sloping terrain.
Reserve an adequate amount of working space for the
crane and transport equipment.
When moving over terrain, keep the limitations of the
base machine in mind.
