2. Direct the crankshaft (3) and camshaft (4) so that
when mounting the driven gear (1) on the cam-
shaft, the marks stamped on the gears (1 and 2)
coincide.

3. Place the dial gauge (1) on the timing gear (2)
and check that the clearance between the gears
(2) and (3) is between 0.076 to 0.280 mm (0.0029
to 0.0110 in).
