At first, the axes appear ordered as they have been defined in the general machine parameter
table (by channels) and then as the swapping is defined.
#RENAME AX
Renames the axes
It changes the name of the axes. For each programmed axis pair, the first axis takes the name
of the second one. If the second axis is present in the configuration, it takes the name of the
first one. Any axis may be renamed with any name, whether it is in any channel or not.
The programming format is as follows:
#RENAME AX [<Xn1>,<Xn2>][...]
Parameter RENAMECANCEL indicates whether the CNC keeps or cancel the names of the
axes and spindles (#RENAME) after executing M02 or M30, after a reset or at the beginning
of a new part-program in the same channel.
After turning the CNC off and on, the axes and spindles always keep their new name, except
after a checksum error or after validating the machine parameters that involve restoring the
original configuration of channels, axes or spindles. In either case, the axes and the spindles
will recover their original names.
When a channel releases (frees) an axis (instruction #SET or #FREE), the axis always
recovers its original name.
Even if the #RENAME is kept (parameter RENAMECANCEL), the CNC cancels it if the
channel recovers an axis with the same name after a reset or after a new program starts.
This occurs if the #RENAME uses the name of an axis whose channel change permission
is temporary or no_exchange (parameter AXISEXCH), that is not in the channel at the time.
#FREE AX [X,A]
(It removes the X and A axes from the configuration)
#FREE AX ALL
(Removes all the axes from the channel)
Screen display of the different configurations. Let us suppose a machine with 5 axes X-Y-
Z-A-W.
Parameter
Meaning
<Xn1>
Axis whose name is to be changed
<Xn2>
new axis name.
#RENAME AX [X,X1]
(The X axis is now called X1. If X1 already exists in the channel, it is called X)
#RENAME AX [X1,Y][Z,V2]
