the power tool “live” and could give the operator an
electric shock.

Use the machine only for dry sanding. Penetra-
tion of water into the machine increases the risk of
an electric shock.
f
Apply the machine to the workpiece only when
switched on and switch the machine off only af -
ter it has been lifted away from the workpiece.
The power tool can move suddenly.
f
Never touch the running sanding belt. Danger
of injury.
f
pay attention that no persons are put at risk
through sparking. Remove any combustible
materials in the vicinity. Sparking occurs when
sanding metal materials.
f
Do not use worn, torn or heavily clogged sand -
ing belts. Damaged sanding belts can tear apart,
be thrown from the machine and injure somebody.

Caution, fire hazard! Avoid overheating the ob -
ject being sanded as well as the sander. Always
empty the dust collector before taking breaks.
In unfavourable conditions, e. g., when sparks emit
from sanding metals, sanding debris in the dust
bag, micro filter or paper sack (or in the filter sack or
filter of the vacuum cleaner) can self-ignite. Partic -
ularly when mixed with remainders of varnish, poly -
urethane or other chemical materials and when the
sanding debris is hot after long periods of working.

Regularly clean the power tool’s air vents. The
motor’s fan will draw the dust inside the housing
and excessive accumulation of powdered metal
may cause electrical hazards.

when working with the machine, always hold it
firmly with both hands and provide for a secure
stance. The power tool is guided more secure with
both hands.

Secure the workpiece. A workpiece clamped with
clamping devices or in a vice is held more secure
than by hand.
f
Always wait until the machine has come to a
complete stop before placing it down. The tool
insert can jam and lead to loss of control over the
power tool.
CONNECTION TO ThE pOwER SUppLY
Make sure the power supply information on the
machine’s rating plate are compatible with the
power supply you intend to connect it to.
This appliance is Class II* and is designed for con-
nection to a power supply matching that detailed
on the rating label and compatible with the plug
fitted. If an extension lead is required, use an ap -
proved and compatible lead rated for this appli -
ance. follow all the instruction supplied with the
extension lead.
*Double insulated: This product requires
no earth connection as supplementary in-
sulation is applied to the basic insulation to
protect against electric shock in the event of
failure of the basic insulation.
GUIDELINES FOR USING EXTENSION CORDS

Make sure your extension cord is in good condition.
When using an extension cord, be sure to use one
heavy enough to carry the current your product will
draw. An undersized cord will cause a drop in line
voltage resulting in loss of power and overheating.
f
Always replace a damaged extension cord or have it
repaired by a qualified person before using it.
f
Protect your extension cords from sharp objects,
excessive heat and damp/wet areas.
f
Use a separate electrical circuit for your tools. This
circuit should be protected with the appropriate
time-delayed fuse. Before connecting the motor to
the power line, make sure the switch is in the Off
position and the electric voltage is rated the same
as the voltage stamped on the motor nameplate.
Running at a lower voltage will damage the motor.
