6. This step is optional and cosmetic. Now all the holes are drilled, and pieces
installed, remove everything that is removable and
PAINT the firewall and front end wood structure;
after all the Glasair’s are all-metal and Fiberglass
airframes! Use fuel proof dope (like Sig or Brodak)
or polyurethane paint in the color of your choice.
While you are at it spray clear works well to fuel
proof some of the unreachable nooks and crannies
of the forward fuselage behind the firewall too.

FUSELAGE & TAIL ASSEMBLY
A note about rudder and elevator pushrods. The hardware shown above is supplied
with the kit and is perfectly adequate for controlling your Glasair. However, as
mentioned in the introductory comments, if you intend to fly your Glasair at an IMAA
event, they will
insist
that you have 3mm or 4-40 sized control hardware.
If you have one of the early Glasair kits (supplied around January 2007) your kit has
also been supplied with pull-pull cable for the rudder. However, this is not really a
good fit with the kit because the rudder servo is substantially offset from the centerline
