Cleaning
Clean Engine and Exhaust
System Area
Service Interval: Before each use or daily
(May be required more
often in dry or dirty
conditions.)
CAUTION
Excessive debris around engine and exhaust
system area can cause engine, exhaust area, and
hydraulic system to overheat which can create
a fire hazard.
Clean all debris from engine and exhaust system
area.
1.
Stop engine, wait for all moving parts to stop, and
remove key. Engage parking brake.
2.
Clean around flywheel, cylinder head, injectors,
and injector pump.
3.
Clean all debris from the exhaust system area.
4.
Wipe up any excessive grease or oil around the
engine and exhaust area.
Important:
Do Not use water to clean engine.
Use low pressure compressed air. See Engine
Owner's Manual.
Clean the Radiator
Service Interval: Every 50 hours (May be
required more often in dry
or dirty conditions.)
1.
Stop engine, wait for all rotating parts to stop and
remove key. Engage parking brake.
2.
Allow engine to cool.
3.
Rotate hood forward
4.
Using compressed air, blow out debris stuck
between the fins of the entire radiator, both from
the top down and from the bottom up.
5.
If debris remains, it may be necessary to use water
from a low pressure hose. If the radiator is clean,
proceed to step 7.
6.
Cover the engine with a piece of cardboard, or
a plastic sheet. Squirt water through the fins.
