ENERGY STAR is a voluntary government program backed by the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) that helps businesses and individuals save money and protect the
climate through superior energy efficiency products. Behind each ENERGY STAR label is a
product that has been independently certified by an EPA-recognized certification body to use
less energy and cause fewer emissions that contribute to climate change.
