WARNING:
Never pull the Cutting Head and spinning blade
towards you when making a sliding cut. The blade may try to
climb up on top of the workpiece, causing the Cutting Head to
‘Kickback’ forcefully.
The Cutting Head should always be positioned as outlined
above before attempting to make a sliding cut. When the
Cutting Head is in the correct position above the workpiece
it can be lowered and pushed rearwards towards the fence to
complete the cut.
MITRE CUTTING
(Fig. 29)
The rotary table of this machine can be turned through 55

to the
left or right from the normal cross-cut (0

) position.
Positive stops are provided at 45

to both the
right hand and left hand sides. Mitre Cutting is possible with or
without the Sliding Carriage system being deployed.
• Loosen the Mitre Lock Handle
(Fig. 30)
by turning it
anti-clockwise.
• Pull up the Positive Stop Locking Lever.
(Fig. 31)
• Turn the rotary table to the desired angle. A mitre angle
protractor scale is incorporated into the machines base to
aid setting.
• Tighten the Mitre Lock Handle when the
angle is achieved.
NOTE:
It is good practice to tighten the Mitre Lock Handle
even if a Positive Stop has been selected and the Positive Stop
Locking Lever is engaged.
