6.5 DC System Circuit Protection
DC Circuit Breaker Panel
The circuits for 12 volt lights and accessories acti-
vated by the helm switch panels are protected by
push to reset circuit breakers in the helm circuit
breaker panel.
If a circuit breaker trips, the reset button pops out
and can be felt through the black silicone protec-
tive cover. Press the button to reset the tripped
breaker. If the breaker trips again, find and cor
-
rect the problem before resetting the breaker.
DC Accessory Fuse Panels
Power is distributed to cabin 12 volt cabin acces-
sories, cockpit accessories, and other accessories
not activated by switches in the helm switch panels
through individual blade type fuses in panels locat-
ed in the storage compartment on the starboard
side of the helm. The “Main #1” circuit breaker
and Continuous Power main circuit in the systems
compartment protects the fuse panel circuits from
an overload.
The fuses are labeled for the accessory circuit
they protect. Blank fuse holders are reserved
for additional accessories not usually installed by
the factory.
If a fuse blows, it must be replaced with a fuse
of the same amperage as the original. The fuses
are labeled and color coded. Never try to correct
a problem with a 12 volt accessory by installing
a larger fuse. This could cause the accessory or
circuit with a problem to overheat, which could
result in an electrical fire.
Continuous Power Fuse Panels
Two fuse panels located in the compartment on the
starboard side of the helm. These fuses protect
circuits that are always active and not turned off
by the battery switches. The continuous power
circuits are always supplied current when the
house batteries are connected.
