INSTALLATION
Installing/Replacing the lamp
WARNING!
Disconnect from power and allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before opening the head.
During the operation, the lamp reaches temperatures of up to 600° C. Thus, wear heat-
resistant gloves safety gloves and safety glasses when handling lamps.
Suitable lamps
The fixture is designed for use with the following lamps:
OMNILUX OSD 7 Reflector 230W discharge lamp
No. 89101927
Osram SIRIUS HRI 230W discharge lamp
No. 89101936
Do not install lamps with a higher wattage! Lamps with a higher wattage generate temperatures the device
was not designed for. Damages caused by nonobservance are not subject to warranty.
Lamp life
The lamp life given by the manufacturer must never be exceeded. This is why you need to monitor lamp
hours using the operating hour meter in the Control Board. Due to the extreme heat associated with the 7R
discharge lamp and the compact size of the internal optical system it is imperative that the lamp be replaced
every
2000 hours
. This is done to protect the internal optical system as well as prevent accidental lamp
explosion.
Never exceed the lamp’s average service life by more than 10%. Replace the lamp immediately if it is
deformed or in any way defective.
Procedure
During the installation do not touch the glass-bulbs bare-handed! Please follow the lamp manufacturer's
notes.
Step 1:
Open one of the housing covers. The easiest way is, if you open the side in which on the inside
front, a small integrated circuit board is located over the lens.
Step 2:
Now unscrew the two screws from the fan, which is located above the lamp compartment. The
fan cables do not have to be separated for this purpose, set the fan just slightly to the side.
Step 3:
If replacing the lamp, first remove the old lamp. Carefully remove the two blade terminals from
the lamp base.
Step 4:
If installing a lamp for the first time, please note that the two blade terminals are insulated with
tape or a mounted connector. Please completely remove the tape and in the case of a
connector, this can be easily pulled off. When testing or storing the spotlight without installed
lamps, please insulate the connections again against each other and against touching the
case.
Step 5:
Carefully insert the lamp from above, by pressing it downwards into the lamp holder. The lamp
must noticeably snap into place and fit snugly.
Step 6:
Connect the two lamp terminals with the two blade terminals of the connection wires. The
polarity does not matter.
Step 7:
Install the fan back in its position.
Step 8:
Replace the housing cover. Make sure that the cover is properly positioned. Then screw the
cover on with the four screws.
Caution! The 7R lamp is not a hot-restrike type. You must wait at least 15 minutes before you can
attempt to strike the lamp once it has been turned off!
Caution! Do not operate the fixture with opened cover!
