Boot devices usually are hard drives, floppy drives, CD-ROMs and network
cards.
When you specify a device as a boot device on the Boot Menu, it requires the
availability of an operating system on that device. Most home computers
come with an operating system already installed on hard-drive

If you wish to boot from a CD-ROM you will need to add it to the boot order.
As a general rule the order below is recommended:
1.
Removable Devices (usually floppy disks)
2.
CD-ROM Drive
3.
Hard Drive
4.
Network Boot
In everyday use you will usually boot from the hard drive, however there may
be occasions when it is advantageous to boot from a floppy disk or CD-ROM.

If you choose to boot from a
floppy disk
make sure you have selected the ap-
propriate floppy drive type (see
“Floppy Type” on page 5 - 8
