The time is automatically synchronised every hour. This is sufficient to keep the
time accurate to within one second per day.
The DCF time signal is sent from a transmitter in Mainflingen (near Frankfurt
am Main, Germany) and has a range of up to 1500 km, increasing to 2000 km
in ideal reception conditions. The signal contains the exact time and date and
has a theoretical time deviation of one second every million years. There is no
need to set the summer and winter time manually.
Configuring the settings
The alarm clock will revert to the home screen if you do not press any buttons for approx.
30 seconds.
Hold down the
(9) or
(8) buttons to move through the digits faster.
a) Setting the date and time
You only need to set the date and time manually if the weather station is used outside of the DCF
reception area, in a time zone other than the German time zone, or when DCF reception is poor.
• Press and hold the
MODE
button (7) for 3 seconds until the hour value flashes.
• Press the (9) or
(8) buttons to change the hour value. Confirm your selection with the
MODE
button.
The minute value will start to flash.
• Press the or
buttons to change the minute value. Confirm your selection with the
MODE
button.
The year value will start to flash.
• Press the or
buttons to change the year. Confirm your selection with the
MODE
button. The month
value will start to flash.
• Press the or
buttons to change the month. Confirm your selection with the
MODE
button. The date
will start to flash.
• Press the or
buttons to change the date. Confirm your selection with the
MODE
button. The second
value will revert to zero.
b) Changing the language for the day of the week
• Press and hold the
button. The abbreviations for each language will be displayed in a loop. To change
the language, release the
button when the desired language is displayed. You can choose from the
following languages: English (EN), German (GE), Italian (IT), French (FR), Spanish (SP), Dutch (DU) and
Swedish (SW).
• The LCD will revert to the home screen.
c) Setting the time zone
• Press and hold the
button (9) for 3 seconds to display the time zone setting. The symbol will be
displayed.
• Press and hold the
button for 3 seconds to go back to the home screen. The symbol will disappear.
• When the time zone is displayed, press and hold the
MODE
button (7) for 3 seconds until the hour value
flashes.
• Press the (9) or
(8) buttons to change the time zone. Confirm your selection with the
MODE
button.
d) Setting the alarm time
• Press the
MODE
button (7) once to display the alarm time for Alarm 1. "AL1" will be displayed on the LCD.
• Press and hold the
MODE
button (7) for 3 seconds until the hour value flashes.
• Press the (9) or
(8) buttons to change the hour value. Confirm your selection with the
MODE
button (7). The minute value will start to flash.
• Press the or
button to change the minute value. Confirm your selection with the
MODE
button. The
alarm will be enabled and the bell symbol ( ) will be displayed.
• To set the alarm time for Alarm 2, press the
MODE
button (7) twice. "AL2" will be displayed on the LCD.

Repeat the above steps to set the alarm time. Once you have completed the settings, Alarm 2 will be
enabled and the bell symbol ( ) will be displayed.
e)
Configuring the dual time
• Press the
MODE
button three times to display the dual time (
).
• Press and hold the
MODE
button (7) for 3 seconds until the hour value flashes.
• Press the (9) or
(8) buttons to change the hour value. Confirm your selection with the
MODE
button.
The minute value will start to flash.
• Press the or
buttons to change the minute value. Confirm your selection with the
MODE
button.
f) Enabling/disabling the alarm
• Press the
MODE
button (7) once to display the alarm time for Alarm 1 (AL1).
• Press the
MODE
button twice to display the alarm time for Alarm 2 (AL2).

If the bell symbols
or are not displayed, press the
button (5) once to enable Alarm 1. The bell
symbol ( ) will be displayed on the LCD.
• Press the
button twice to enable Alarm 2. The bell symbol ( ) will be displayed on the LCD.
•
To enable both alarms, press the button three times. Both bell symbols (
and
) will be displayed.
•
To disable both alarms, press the button four times. Both bell symbols (
and ) will disappear from
the LCD.
g) Silencing the alarm and using the snooze function
•
The alarm will go off at the preset time and the bell symbol (
or ) will appear on the LCD.
•
If the alarm is not turned off manually, it will stop automatically after approximately four minutes and go off
again on the following day at the same time.
• Press the
SNOOZE*LIGHT
button (4) to snooze for 4 minutes. The backlight will turn on for 5 seconds and
the
symbol will flash on the LCD. The alarm will go off again after approximately 4 minutes. This cycle
can be repeated up to seven times.
• To silence the alarm, press the
button (5), not the
SNOOZE*LIGHT
button.
h) Turning on the backlight
Press the
SNOOZE*LIGHT
button (4) to turn on the backlight for 5 seconds.
i) Changing the time format
Press the
button (9) to switch between 12 and 24-hour format. In 12-hour format, "AM" or "PM" are
displayed to indicate before or after noon.
j) Selecting the temperature unit
Press the
°C/°F
button (6) to change the temperature unit.
k) Daylight saving time (summer time)
is displayed when the DCF signal indicates daylight saving time.
Maintenance and cleaning
•
Remove the batteries before cleaning the product.
•
Do not dismantle the product. It does not require any maintenance apart from changing the battery.
•
Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these could damage the
casing or even impair the functioning of the product.
• Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the product.

Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste. At
the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory regulations.
Remove any inserted (rechargeable) batteries and dispose of them separately from the product.
b)
(Rechargeable) batteries
You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/
rechargeable batteries. Disposing of them in the household waste is prohibited.
(Rechargeable) batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled with this symbol to
indicate that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The designations for the heavy metals
involved are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead (name on (rechargeable) batteries,
e.g. below the trash icon on the left).
Used (rechargeable) batteries can be returned to collection points in your municipality, our stores or wherever
(rechargeable) batteries are sold.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
