Connector JC6: TTL position encoder
Caution:
The encoder cable must be insulated (no contact) from the power and the mains.
The inputs and outputs of this connector are not galvanically insulated from the GND.
The inputs and outputs must be connected to an Extra Low Voltage circuit only
(SELV).
Caution:
The encoder connector must be handled in an ESD protected environment, only.
Remark:
The encoder cable(s) connected to the DSC2P must be shielded (see
§3.7.1
).
TTL encoders measure the motor position with 2 phase-shifted TTL signals. Each change of state of one of the
signals corresponds to an increment of the motor position. A third signal (index) gives the motor absolute
position. The encoder TTL signals have to be compatible with the EIA standard RS422. These signals have
the following form:
Furthermore,
the motor over temperature protection
(TSD: Temperature Sensor Digital) can also be
connected to this connector (JC6). This signal is also present on JC10 (Tempe I/O) connector. Both
TSD inputs are hard-wired and then only one TSD input must be connected:

more information about the TSD input).
The +5VDC encoder supply output is protected by the fuse F3 (1A) on JC5, JC6 and JC10.
