CEM3 Sensor Rack Retrofit Manual
Attach new power harness
1:
Clip the first zip tie, attaching the power harness to the enclosure, behind the existing J1 power
connector to give the harness more room to move while you work.
2:
Install the power adapter harness to the edge connector (straight thru PCB) and then to the old
power connector (be sure the wire colors match on both sides of the joined connectors).
3:
Secure the power connectors together with the provided 4" (102 mm) zip ties. Clip the zip tie
ends for neatness.
4:
Center the provided 4 1/2” (114 mm) x 2” (51 mm) diameter heat shrink
tubing over the power harness connectors (leaving at least 1 1/4” (32 mm)
past each connector).
5:
Contract the heat shrink using a heat gun.
6:
While the heat shrink is still soft, secure both ends using one of the provided
zip ties on each end.
7:
Tuck the power harness connection bundle between the bus bar and the enclosure wall.
8:
Route the green ground wire behind the bus bar, between the enclosure wall and existing wires,
and land it at an open terminal on any existing grounding bus in the enclosure using a square
drive or Phillips screwdriver.
9:
Use a zip tie to secure the ground wire to the wire bundle as it protrudes from the heat shrink.
CAUTION:
A butane torch is not acceptable to shrink the large heat
shrink. You must use a heat gun.
