Basic Settings
The basic settings for TIG welding are made from the main menu.

HF start
With touch start, the arc is ignited after the electrode touches the welding piece
and then lifted away. With HF start, the arc is ignited by the spark transfer that
occurs when the electrode is a certain distance from the work piece.
4.
Trigger function
With TIG welding, you can specify if the TIG torch trigger will have a 2--stroke or
4--stroke function. The primary difference is that with 2--stroke, the trigger is held
down during welding, while with 4--stroke, the trigger can be released. The
difference between 2--stroke and 4--stroke is illustrated in the following figures
along with other functions of the start and stop cycles.

In 2--stroke welding. any gas pre--flow starts when the TIG torch trigger is pressed in
(1). Thereafter, the current rises to pilot level (a couple of ampere) and the arc is
ignited. After this occurs. the current goes up to the pre--set value (with any
ramp--up).
When the trigger is then released (2), the current goes back to pilot level (with any
ramp--down) and the arc is extinguished. Any gas pre--flow then follows.
