However, print data containing double-height characters or quadruple
characters is stored so that only the seven lower dots of these characters
appear in the printable area. In this case, a line feed command (such
as
LF)
should be executed before buffering the print data to print the
upper dots that are left behind.
(2) If a set of print data (including the space at the right of the characters)
exceeds a line in the specified printable area before receiving a command
pertaining to a line feed (such as
LF
or
ESC J),
a line is automatically
fed in the specified area. The buffering location slides down one line
and the buffer start position moves to the top of the next line accordingly.
The line spacing set using a command such as
ESC 2 or ESC 3
is used
here. lf the next set of print data contains any double-height characters or
quadruple characters, the line spacing should be increased to prevent
the previous print data from duplicating the upper dots of the next data
set.
5. Using Page Mode
This section gives a detailed description of how to use Page Mode.
The main sequence for entering Page Mode is as follows:
On receiving
ESC L,
the printer enters Page Mode.
Specify a printable area using
ESC W.
Specify a print direction using
ESC T.
Transmit print data.
Print all the transmitted print data at one time using
FF.
Finally, after the printing is completed, the printer returns to Standard
Mode.
