Checking Printer Condition and Maintaining

Note:

Do not start the Print Head Alignment utility while printing is in
progress; otherwise, your printout may be marred.

For Windows users

Follow the steps below to align the print head using the Print
Head Alignment utility.

1. Make sure that A4- or Letter-size plain paper is loaded in the

sheet feeder.

2. Access the printer software, click the

Maintenance

tab, and

then click the

Print Head Alignment

button.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to align the print head.

For Macintosh users

Follow the steps below to align the print head using the Print
Head Alignment utility.

1. Make sure that A4- or Letter-size plain paper is loaded in the

sheet feeder.

2. For users of Mac OS 8.1 or later (except Mac OS X), access the

printer software, click the

Utility icon button, and then

click the

Print Head Alignment

button.

For Mac OS X users, double-click the

EPSON Printer Utility

icon in the

Applications

folder in

Macintosh HD

(by default

setting), select your printer, click

in the Printer List

window, and then click the

Print Head Alignment

button in

the Utility dialog box.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to align the print head.
