Observe the target to align the Receiver: the target centre represents
the location of the Receiver diode.

1.
, adjust the bolts on the flange to get an image on the
target as follows:

Tighten bolt

moderately.

Fully slacken bolts

and
C
.
1c.
Adjust the Receiver assembly by hand until a green light image appears
on the target, then tighten the nut on bolt

. (If no image appears,
check that the Transmitter is working correctly.)
2.
Using a spanner fine-tune bolts
B
and
C
on the flange to fix the green image
exactly at the centre of the target. (Bolts B and C provide horizontal and
vertical adjustment, resp.)
3.
Securely tighten all three bolts (tighten bolts
B
and
C
at the same rate).
4.
Replace the alignment tool with the Receiver enclosure and tighten the
grub screws.
Aligning the Sensor Heads using the Control Unit
A more precise alignment is possible if you have visual access to the control unit
display during alignment. The aim is to adjust the alignment bolts on the Receiver
and the Transmitter flange to obtain the maximum reading.
1.
Select
QA/Self-Tests
and set the required channel from the
Device
list.
2.
Press the
Set Up
button at the top right to display this screen.

Observe the Received Light level while adjusting the tension of the bolts:
