The Heating Module Will Not Start Up
Check for power to the unit. Press the lower green ‘Test’ button on the GFCI inside the unit. If
the red light does not light up, then there is a problem with power coming into the unit. If the
red light does light up, then press the green ‘Reset’ button above the light on the circuit plate
located at the top left of the unit. If this light does not light up, there is a problem with the
electrical connection between the CGFI and the computer board. Contact Energy Kinetics for
instructions.
Check flow rate through the heating module closed loop flow path. If it is less then 0.75 GPM
the heating module will not initiate. Purge system of trapped air. Check system circulator.
Check the system strainer and flow sensor for debris or damage.
Heating Module Error Codes:
All EK-Pak units have a self-diagnostics system for errors. If there are any problems with the
installation or the unit itself, it will signal an error code by flashing a pair of lights on the
computer board. If you have the Plug In Service Aid/Remote installed it will give a numerical
error code.
Refer to the chart shown below for the meanings of the error codes.
