5-2-2  Installation of tools and equipment and adjustment of the spring tension

WARNING

Do not pull out the hose when the balancer is not loaded. If the hose is released by

mistake while being pulled out without a load, it may quickly be wound up, causing

an injury.

NOTICE

If the spring tension is set higher than the maximum capacity, not only will the

specified stroke not be obtained, but the life of the spring will also be reduced. On

the other hand, if the spring tension is set lower than the minimum capacity, the fall-

arrest device will be activated and prevent the vertical movement of the tool

(equipment).

Check whether the total mass (weight) of the tool (equipment)

and the accessories is within the capacity range of the

balancer.

Lift the tool (equipment) and attach it to the hose end of the

balancer (swivel joint).

At this time, do not pull out the hose.

Turn the worm to adjust the spring tension.

The tension will increase if you turn the worm in

the “+” direction (clockwise).

The tension will decrease if you turn the worm in

the “-” direction (counterclockwise).

Ensure that balance is achieved.

5-2-3  Releasing the fall-arrest device

After the fall-arrest device is

activated, for example, when

the spring tension is reduced

too much, the fall-arrest device

can be released by turning the

worm to the “+” direction

(clockwise) and increasing the

tension with the tool

(equipment) attached.

REMINDER

When the mass (weight) of the tool (equipment) exceeds the
spring tension, the tool (equipment) moves downward.
Keep your hand on the tool (equipment) and slowly lower it.

NOTICE

If the spring tension is too strong,

the main equipment of the balancer

or the hose may be damaged.
