WARNING
Risk to Personnel and Equipment: Avoid the path of any item that could be
ejected from the tool as a result of either malfunction or unexpected pressure
release.
DANGER
Danger to Personnel and Equipment: If there is pressure behind the pipe plug
after one or two minutes because corrosive gas or liquid will spill out and cause
serious injury or death. Do not attempt to remove the pipe plug. Instead,
retighten the pipe plug and abandon the location until the system is shut down.
4. Use the 1
⅛
-inch spanner on the plug hexagon and carefully turn the plug
counterclockwise slightly (maximum
⅛
-inch turn) to verify that it comes loose
without using too much torque.

turn, or corrosive gas or liquid could spill out and cause serious injury. If a leak
starts to occur, retighten the plug until the leak stops.
5. Inspect the o-ring in the bottom of the service valve and verify that it is properly in
place. If necessary, replace the o-ring before proceeding.
6. Install the service valve on the access fitting. Screw it all the way until it clearly seats
on the access fitting. Tighten it by using a brass or plastic hammer on the "hammer
nut" part of the service valve.
