2
Designated use
The Emergency-stop push-buttons are electromechanical switches designed
to protect persons on or near machinery. They are used to switch off/shut
down machines and systems to avoid or minimise emerging or existing haz-
ards to persons or damage to the machine or workpieces.
3
Safety instructions
The person installing the Emergency-Stop push-button must be provided with
the operating instructions. Read these operating instructions carefully and re-
tain for future reference.
4
Area of application
The national and international legislation applies to the use and installation of
the Emergency-stop push-button as well as for commissioning and recurrent
technical inspections, in particular:
2006/42/EC Machinery Directive
the safety regulations
the accident prevention regulations and safety rules
Manufacturers and users of the machine on which the safety equipment is
used are responsible for coordinating and complying with all applicable safety
regulations in collaboration with the relevant authorities.
Designated use includes the compliance with all relevant requirements for in-
stallation and operation, in particular:
EN ISO 13849-1

Exclusion of liability
No liability shall be accepted for any damage or operational faults caused by a
failure to observe these operating instructions. All further liability of the manufac-
turer is excluded in the case of damage caused by the use of replacement and
accessory parts that have not been authorized by the manufacturer.
No unauthorized repairs, conversions or modifications are permitted for reasons

Function
The contact element is actuated by means of the button. The contact elements
are also available with failure protection to maintain safety in the event of a volt-
age drop of the contact element of the push-button. This opens a contact when
the contact element is disconnected from the button. The failure protection thus
detects a fault and triggers the emergency stop function.
Please observe the wiring diagram on the contact element.
Release
- Twist release:
turning clockwise/counter-clockwise
- Key release:
only NHT04S
