OPERATION
Warning: Hold the hedgecutter away from
yourself using both hands. Stand in a se-
cure and stable position.
When cutting, move steadily along the line of
cut, so that stems are fed directly into the cutter
blades. The double edge cutting blade enables
cutting in either direction, or with a side to side
motion.
Cut the sides of the hedge first, then the top.
To cut the sides straightly, we recommend cut-
ting from bottom to top in the direction of
growth. Younger stems tend to move outwards
when cutting them from top to bottom, resulting
in shallow patches or holes in the hedge.
To reach a level finish, fasten a piece of string
along the length of the hedge at the required
height and use as an alignment guide. Cut the
hedge just above the string.
Always take care to avoid cutting into objects
such as wire, which could cause damage to the
cutting blades and the drive.
CAUTION:
• Be careful not to accidentally contact a metal
fence or other hard objects while trimming. The
blade will break and may cause serious injury.
• Overreaching with a hedge trimmer, particularly
from a ladder, is extremely dangerous. Do not work
from anything wobbly or infirm
Do not attempt to cut branches thicker than 10 mm
diameter with this trimmer. These should first be cut
with shears down to the hedge trimming level
CAUTION:
• Do not cut off dead trees or similar hard objects.
Failure to do so may damage the tool.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and
battery cartridge is removed before attempting to
perform inspection or maintenance on the tool.
Failure to switch off and remove the battery
cartridge may result in serious personal injury from
accidental start-up.

Blade maintenance
Smear the blade before and once per hour during
operation using machine oil or the like.
NOTE:
• Before smearing the blade, remove the chip
receiver.
After operation, remove dust from both sides of the
blade with wired brush, wipe off it with a rag and
then apply enough low-viscosity oil, such as
machine oil etc. and spray-type lubricating oil.
CAUTION:
• Do not wash the blades in water. Failure to do so
may cause rust or damage on the tool.
Battery Maintenance
Use the following procedures to enable optimum
usage of the battery:
– Protect the battery against moisture and water.
– Store the battery only within a temperature range
between 0 °C and 50 °C. As an example, do not
leave the battery in the car in summer.
– Do not leave the battery in the product in direct
sunlight.
– The ideal storage condition for the battery is 5°C.
– Occasionally clean the venting slots of the
battery using a soft, clean and dry brush.
A significantly reduced working period after charging
indicates that the battery is used and must be
replaced.
