Configuration Jumpers
J-GP - Loading UEFI/BIOS Setup Defaults & IEEE 1588 Pulse per Second
The jumper J-GP may be used to reset the UEFI/BIOS configuration settings to a default state. The
UEFI/BIOS on SC9-TOCCATA stores most of its settings in an area within the UEFI/BIOS flash, e.g.
the actual boot devices. Using the jumper J-GP is only necessary, if it is not possible to enter the
setup of the UEFI/BIOS. To reset the settings mount a jumper on J-GP and perform a system reset.
As long as the jumper is stuffed the UEFI/BIOS will use the default configuration values after any
system reset. To get normal operation again, the jumper has to be removed.
To fulfill the above functionality pin 1 of J-GP (the pin with the square pad) is connected to
GPP_D18 of the RM590E.
There is also an alternate function available on J-GP. Pin 1 of this jumper carries a Pulse per Second
(PPS) signal according the IEEE 1588 specification when enabled by UEFI/BIOS settings. A wire
may be connected to trigger events on external devices.
NOTE: The PPS signal is also available at the CompactPCI® Serial connector P1 pin J3 (SATA-SCL).
