                 Please read carefully before using.

INTENDED   USE

The Lactate Scout Sport analyzer may only be

Scout Test Strips are only for single use.

WARNING NOTICES

Read the user manual of your Lactate Scout

Sport analyzer before using. Avoid any risk of

test strips being swallowed. Keep away from

children. The handling of blood carries the risk

Do not expose test strips to moisture and direct

sun light. Keep test strips  refrigerated. Store

the test strips in the original container only and

within the specified temperature range of -18

°C / 0 °F to +8 °C / 46 °F. The expiration date

of the test strips on the label of the test strip

container must not be exceeded. Once the test

INTERFERENCES

Impurities such as sweat, alcohol or disinfectant

on the skin may cause problems with the sample

uptake or cause incorrect results. Ensure that

the sample site is cleaned carefully with water

and dried before puncturing the finger. Use

only fresh blood samples for measurement. The

intake of drugs such as paracetamol or diseases,

infections, diets, carbohydrate-rich food or stress

can influence individual test results.

HANDLING (FOR SINGLE, DISPOSABLE USE)

Insert a new, unused Lactate Scout Test Strip

into the analyzer. Hold the test strip in the

middle with clean, dry fingers and do not touch

the tip. Upon insertion of the test strip, the

two-digit test strip code will be displayed briefly.

Ensure that this code is identical to the code

printed on the test strip vial. Only use strips that

are within their expiry date. Thoroughly clean

and dry the intended sampling site. Puncture

the sampling site by using a sterile safety lancet.

Blot away the first drop of blood and use the

second drop for the measurement. Lower the

analyzer with the tip of the inserted test strip

to the fresh drop of blood. Do not touch the

skin. The required sample volume (0.2

μ

l) will

be drawn into the test strip automatically and

the measurement will commence. The result will

be displayed after 10 seconds. By removing the

test strip, the result will be stored automatically

(including date, time and other data) and

the analyzer will switch off. Error messages:

Measurement results outside the measuring

range (<0.5 mmol/L and >25.0 mmol/L) are

marked. In case of faults or technical problems,

error messages appear. For detailed descriptions

of the indications and error messages, refer to

the Lactate Scout Sport user manual.

Health note:

There are no known health risks

when using Lactate Scout Test Strips according

to the instructions. If discomfort is felt after use,

a physician should be contacted immediately.

Persons prone to excessive bleeding or infection,

should consult a doctor before puncturing skin

and sampling.
