5-2. Imaging problems
Problem
Possible cause and remedy
1. The screen is too bright or too dark.
• Use“Brightness”or“Contrast”intheAdjustment
menutoadjustit.(TheLCDmonitorbacklighthasa
limitedlifespan.Whenthescreenbecomesdarkor
beginstoflicker,contactyourlocaldealer.)
• Turnonthe“AutoEcoView”functionintheAdjustment
menu.Themonitordetectstheenvironmental
brightnesstoadjustthescreenbrightness
automatically(see
“4-3.Enabling/DisablingAutomatic
BrightnessAdjustment“AutoEcoView””(page31)
).
2. Characters are blurred.
• CheckwhetherthePCisconfiguredtomeetthe
resolutionandverticalscanfrequencyrequirements
ofthemonitor(see
“2-1.CompatibleResolutions”
).
• Use“OutlineEnhancer”intheAdjustmentmenuto
adjustit(see
“Toenhanceoutlineofimage“Outline
).
3. Afterimages appear.
• AfterimagesareparticulartoLCDmonitors.Avoid
displayingthesameimageforalongtime.
• Usethescreensaverorpowersavingfunctionto
avoiddisplayingthesameimageforextendedperiods
oftime.
4. Green/red/blue/white dots or defective
dots remain on the screen.
• ThisisduetoLCDpanelcharacteristicsandisnota
failure.
5. Interference patterns or pressure marks
remain on the screen.
• Leavethemonitorwithawhiteorblackscreen.The
symptommaydisappear.
6. Noise appears on the screen.
• IntheAdjustmentmenu,set“Overdrive”to“Off”
(see
“2-5.ConfiguringMovingImagePerformance
).
• WhenenteringthesignalsofHDCPsystem,the
normalimagesmaynotbedisplayedimmediately.
7. (DisplayPort-1/DisplayPort-2 input)
Display position of the windows changes.
• Whenthepowerisswitchedon,thepositionofthe
windowmaybechanged.Thisproblemcanbesolved
byconnectingtheUSBcabletothemonitorandPC.
• Whenthesignalisswitched,thepositionofthe
windowmaybechanged.Thesignalmaynotbe
switchedevenwhenthehotkeythatwasspecified
forScreenManagerProforLCDispressed.Inboth
cases,turnon“DisplayPort-1”or“DisplayPort-2”
using“InputSkip”intheAdjustmentmenu,andskip
thesignalsnottobeused(see
Signal“InputSkip””(page28)
).
