Operating Instructions
PLEASE NOTE
• Grinding tools must only ever be used for the
recommended tasks: failure to do so could
cause breakages, damages and/or personal
injury.
Rough Grinding
Never use abrasive cutting discs
for rough grinding!
• Move the angle grinder across the workpiece
with moderate pressure only.
• Move the grinding disc across the surface at
a shallow angle for soft materials and at a
slightly steeper angle for harder materials.
Abrasive Cutting
Never use grinding discs for
abrasive cutting!
Always use certified fibre-rein-
forced abrasive cutting or grinding discs appro-
ved for a peripheral rotation speed of not
less than 80 m/s
CAUTION!
• The grinding tool continues to rotate after
the grinder is switched off! Never attempt to
stop it using lateral pressure.
• Secure the workpiece using either a clamping
jig / vice. That is far safer than holding it in your
hand.
• Always switch off the grinder and wait for it
to come to a complete stop before putting it
down!
• Only ever use the grinder for dry cutting or
grinding!
• The handle must be attached to the grinder for
all tasks!
• Never apply the grinder/cutter to materials
containing asbestos! Asbestos is a known
carcinogen!
!
Tip! The correct approach.
DANGER! ALWAYS GUIDE THE
MACHINE THROUGH THE
WORKPIECE IN A COUNTER-ROTA-
TIONARY DIRECTION.
• If you guide it in the opposite direction, you
risk a kickback: the device can be forced out
of the cut.
• Always apply the grinder to the workpiece
when it is already running! After finishing the
task at hand, remove the grinder from the
workpiece before switching it off!
• Always maintain a firm grip on the grinder
when using it! Always ensure that you adopt a
firm stance!
• To achieve the best possible grind, move
the grinder evenly back and forth across the
workpiece at an angle of between 15° and 30°
(between the disc and the workpiece).
• Never apply heavy pressure against the
workpiece when using the grinder on sloped
surfaces. To ensure safe and effective work
conditions, you must reduce the application-
pressure if the rotation speed slows dramati-
cally. For cutting, apply a moderate pressure in
the cutting direction and avoid snagging the
cutting disc.
• Both grinding and abrasive cutting discs get
extremely hot under operating conditions –
allow them to cool down completely before
touching.
• Never use the grinder for anything other than
