3.3
Introduction to External Emergency Stop
The emergency stop buttons include the emergency stop button of the teach pendant, the
emergency stop button of the control cabinet, and the external emergency stop button. The role of the
emergency stop button is to quickly cut off the output of the driver and stop the robot immediately. Turn
the emergency stop button clockwise to release the emergency stop button.
Emergency stop is a state that takes priority over all other robotic control operations, will cause all
controlled dangerous stops, eliminate motor power from the robot starter, remain active until reset, and
can only be reset by manual operation. The emergency stop state means that all power except the
manual brake release circuit is disconnected from the robot. You must perform the restore procedure,
which is to reset the emergency stop button and clear the alarm to resume normal operation. The robot
system can be configured to stop the attack to produce any of the following effects:
• Type 0 stop, which immediately stops the robot operation by stopping the motor power supply.
• Type 1 stop, which stops the robot operation while keeping the motor powered to maintain the
robot path. The motor power supply stops after completion.
The default setting is category 0 stop. However, since the type 1 stop can avoid unnecessary wear
of the robot and the additional operations required to restore the system to production, it is
recommended to choose the type 1 stop
The emergency stop function can only be used for its specific purpose and
established conditions.
The emergency stop function is used to stop the equipment immediately in
case of emergency.
