3-1-3 Remote Management
If you need to manage this broadband router outside of your LAN (i.e.
from Internet), you can use this function to assign a remote IP address
which is permitted to connect to this broadband router’s web management
interface from Internet.
If it’s not required for you to manage this broadband router from Internet,
you can disable this function to improve security.
The descriptions of every setting item are listed as follow:
Item Name
Description
Host address
Input the IP address of the remote host you
wish to initiate a management access.
Port
You can define the port number this router
should expect an incoming connection request.
If you’re providing a web service (default port
number is 80), you should try to use other port
number. You can use the default port setting
‘8080’, or something like ‘32245’ or ‘1429’.
(Any integer between 1 and 65534)
Enabled
Check this box to enable remote management
function. When this box is unchecked, no one
can access this broadband router’s
management interface from Internet.
