- The heat pump must be installed OUSTSIDE in a well ventilated place, far from any sources of
combustibles. In order to reduce noise levels, position the fan (air inlet – outlet) parallel to the living
space.
The water pipe between the pool and the heat pump must not exceed 10m.
Provide for the discharge by gravity of condensates under the machine.
For maintenance reasons, the pump must not be placed in an area where vegetation is present (leaves,
pine needles, etc.).
Ideally, the heat pump should be protected against outdoor phenomena (rain, snow, etc.) by a shelter.
- The frame is secured with screws (M10) to a solid, fixed and non-corrodible structure that is capable
of supporting the weight of the heat pump. It is advisable to install the pump on noise-proof systems.
- Always leave enough space (50 cm minimum) around the machine so that the panels can be removed
easily for repair and maintenance purposes.
- Make sure that the air flow (grid inlet and outlet) is not obstructed by any objects or back flow. The
performance of the heat pump may be reduced and it may even be switched off for safety reasons. Refer
to the chapter “Maintenance for cleaning”.

- The water flow through the pump is driven by the pool filter pump (or an auxiliary pump). The
recommended water flow for each pump is shown in the table of specifications and on the label on the
side of the heat pump.

Position the EDG heat pump on the delivery side between the filter and the water treatment system.
A by-pass system with three valves is used in order to adjust the flow rate of water from the pool
passing through the heat pump. In this way, the device can be removed without stopping the filtration.
Condensates must flow freely into the sewer.

Maximum length of the power cable: 10 m.
If the power cable is ≥10m, the diameter must be increased.
The signal cable can be extended to 50m.
The heat pump must not operate if the filter is stopped. This function is performed by a built-in
flow switch. Check that the pump flow is sufficient for the switch to work.
