The QuadStat
This chapter describes how to connect and use your QuadStat (EA164).
Note that when used with EChem software only a single QuadStat
channel can be used. With Scope software one or two channels can be
used. With Chart software, one to four QuadStat channels can be
used.
IMPORTANT
: Always make sure that the
e-corder
is turned off before
you connect or disconnect the QuadStat. Failure to do this may result in
damage to the
e-corder
and/or the QuadStat.
IMPORTANT
: The QuadStat is a highly sensitive current measuring
device. To prevent damage by static discharge always make sure you
are earthed before touching the QuadStat Electrode connectors,
connecting the lead wires, or before you connect the lead wire alligator
clips to the electrodes. You can do this (after first connecting the
QuadStat and
e-corder
) by touching the outer casing of the
e-corder
or
QuadStat. This will connect you to earth (via the electrical grounding of
the instrument) and any static charge you have collected will be
dissipated.
