Careful handling of the Pedelec
•
Prior to the transport of this cycle either at
the rear or on the roof of a motor vehicle,
always remove any parts which may loosen
in transit (tool bag, luggage baskets, luggage
bags, pumps, child seats, drive battery etc.)!
Permissible load for the Pedelec
•
The permissible total load (cyclist and
luggage) for the EBK ED-3 NJU Pedelec
amounts to 120 kg.
Braking response
•
To ensure that the front wheel does not slip
and the Pedelec retains its steering capacity,
´perform careful braking manoeuvres with the
front-wheel brake at tight curves/bends, on
sandy/slippery roads, wet asphalt and black
ice!
•
The brakes must be applied gently and
precisely. Blocked wheels have a lesser
braking effect and can therefore lead to
skidding and falls!
•
As a rule, brake prior to approaching a bend,
not in the bend itself; braking increases the
risk of slippage!
•
The brake levers attached to the handlebars
must always be firmly attached. Check them
regularly to ensure their firm attachment;
adjust as necessary.
•
Any work on the brake system should be
performed solely by specialised dealers!
Proper use of the Pedelec
•
Your Pedelec is (due to its design and
equipment) designated for the same kind
of use as a typical bicycle: on non-paved
roads/paths, in off-road terrain and on paved
paths.
•
The safety equipment has been assembled
by PanTerra™: it must be regularly checked
by the user, and corrective maintenance
must be performed by the specialised dealer
as necessary.
•
In the event of non-compliance with the
safety guidelines indicated in these operating
instructions, PanTerra™ assumes no liability
for any resulting incidence of injury or
damage. This particularly applies to the use
of the Pedelec as well as to overloading and
the improper remedy of defects. Under these
conditions, there is no liability on PanTerra’s
part for defects of quality.
•
The ED-3 SP is not equipped for use in
competitive events.
Please also observe all other guidelines
for assembly, maintenance and upkeep
indicated in this handbook (along with the
specifications set forth by the gearshift-
assembly manufacturer).
Provisions on liability for
defects of quality
As a rule, the 24-month statutory period of
liability for defects of quality applies. PanTerra™
shall warrant any material defects/design
errors on your Pedelec under the following
prerequisites:
•
You can only asset your claim on any defects
of quality by submitting the record of delivery
and the purchase receipt.
•
The period of liability for defects of quality
begins with the day of purchase. If a change
of ownership takes place during this period,
then this must be duly noted on the record
of delivery.
Special considerations
The maintenance of the drive battery is subject
to various conditions. Within the first six months
of purchase, PanTerra™ will conduct precise
tests to determine whether such failure was
caused by normal wear, inappropriate use or
a battery pack which was defective due to
production faults.
