the PLC configuration
For a brief description of how an SmartWire-DT gateway is
put into operation for the first time with a new actual config-
uration please refer to Section “Initial switch-on of the
SmartWire-DT network”, page 99.
In the manual MN05013002Z-EN, “SmartWire-DT Gate-
ways“, you can find out how to configure a SmartWire-DT
gateway with its SmartWire-DT slaves in the configuration
software for the PLC.
Organization of the SmartWire-DT slave data
All cyclic I/O data of existing SmartWire-DT stations are
placed in a data storage area of the SmartWire-DT gateway.
This data storage area comprises up to 1024 bytes. The
cyclic data exchange between the coordinator and all Smart-
Wire-DT stations takes place in a common message.
Each SmartWire-DT slave reads the receive data intended for
it (input byte) and writes its send data (output bytes).
The data are declared valid at the end of the transfer cycle,
after error-free completion of the telegram verification.
Each SmartWire-DT slave can now accept the new receive
data at the same point in time and prepare its send data for
the next transfer cycle.
