Knobs on UVR (if equipped) are incorrectly

adjusted

Check that both knobs on UVR are set to
their fully counter clockwise position

Circuit breaker undesirably closes

Closing coil is energized

Check control signal to circuit breaker for
proper connection

Interlock switch is closed

Check that interlocks are in correct
positions and free from obstructions

When attempting to close, the circuit

breaker opens immediately

The vacuum interrupter contact wipe is incorrectly

adjusted

Follow steps in Section 5.2.2 to correctly
adjust contact wipe

Contact EATON Service Center if unable
to follow steps in Section 5.2.2

Interlock switch is closed

Check that interlocks are in correct
positions and free from obstructions

Circuit breaker cannot be opened

remotely, but can be opened locally

Secondary contact wiring problem

Check for correct installation of pins and
sockets and that the plug is properly
connected

Controller wiring problem

Inspect for loose wires into terminals on
controller

Trip/Close relay wiring problem

Inspect for loose wires into/ out of
trip/close relay

Circuit breaker cannot be opened

locally, but can be opened remotely

Push button switch wiring problem

Inspect for loose wires at red "Push to
Open" push button

Controller wiring problem

Inspect for loose wires into terminals
controller

Circuit breaker makes no attempt to

open with either local (manual) or

remote controls

Wiring problem from auxiliary switch to controller

(Controller thinks breaker is already open)

LED on Controller labeled “circuit breaker
ON” should be on

Inspect for loose wires/continuity from
terminals 3 & 4 on Aux Switch to terminals
X1:3-X1:4 on controller & inspect for loose
wires from terminals 5 & 6 on Aux Switch
to terminals X1:9-X1:10 on controller

Wiring problem from Controller to Open Coil of EM-

Actuator

Inspect for loose wires/continuity from
terminals X3:1-X3:2 on Controller to Open
Coil wires on EM-Actuator (Primary open
coil wires are thin with black and white
insulation. Secondary open coil wires are
thin with blue and red insulation)

Defective or Damaged Controller/Auxiliary

Switch/Open Coil
