Y-offset (Head and Motor):
If the distance between the label start and
the first line is too short, a warning or error signal will be displayed on the
screen. If the Y-offset is too short, the print head cannot print the first pixels
and hence the print may not comply with the desired quality standards. The
minimum Y-offset depends on the print speed and the actual design to be
printed.
Note:
“Y-offset too short” can be triggered if the print head needs
more “Y-offset” or if the motor needs more “Y-offset”.
Speed Too Low:
If while printing the speed of the substrate falls below
the value that the user sets, either a “Warning” or “Error” will be issued
dependent on this setting.
See “Speed Too Low Limit (CM only):” on
Start When Speed Low:
When the printer is operated in CM, the
substrate needs to move before a print can be started. The printer runs at a
minimum speed of approximately 10mm/sec (depending upon application),
eliminating the chance of unprinted products when the production speed
drops. Where the substrate speed is low, a larger number of printing
applications is now available.
If required, the print quality can be ‘fine tuned’ at low speeds by increasing
the ribbon speed compared to the substrate. To do this, set Ribbon
Economy to a negative value (typically -5% to -10%).
Start While Delaying:
If a start signal is detected while the start delay
mechanism is active the signal is either ignored or an alarm will be raised.
Start When Not Ready:
The Start When Not Ready setting determines
the printer's behaviour if a print pulse is detected at a time where the printer
is not ready to print.
The printer is not ready to print if a print sequence is already running or a
print job is not loaded. If the Start when not ready is set to Warning, any
print pulses detected while not ready will be ignored. Depending on the
application, this may result in some products missing a print and is
generally not recommended.
Ranged Alerts
Select this tab to adjust the following ranged alerts:
Speed Too Low Limit (CM only):
The user can change this limit by
selecting it and entering a new speed in mm/s between a range of 0 to 100.
Ribbon Low Limit:
The user can change this limit by selecting it and
entering a new limit in meters between a range of 20 to 200.
