Establish a connection to FW Series controller
There are 2 options to establish a connection to a FW series controller.
You can either choose hard wired (ethernet LAN cable) or Wi-Fi.
In this chapter we will describe both options and the basic procedure.
Ethernet LAN
A brand new FW controller is Access Point mode by default (firmware V1.0b1k and above).
It has DHCP server enable. You can either run auto IP address or manual static IP address.
Manual Static IP
Make sure the computer used to connect to the FW Series has a static IP address that matches the FW
series controller subnet. By default the FW factory IP address is 192.168.10.30.
Below is an example of assigning a static IP address for you windows OS machine.
A simple diagram below shows an example of static IP address configured in the laptop computer.
It has a static IP address 192.168.10.101 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0
