Zone Control:
If the system is Air Zoned, the Zone Override terminal “D” should be used and
will send 24 volts out during the 5-minute maintenance cycle (see 4) only. The 24 volt signal
can be used to open zones to prevent high static pressure and noise from the duct system
during the maintenance mode.
Please contact ETI on how to use the 24 volt signal for your
Zone Board of choice.
6) Auxiliary Heat and Dual Fuel: There is a factory-installed jumper on the field wiring terminal
block between terminals “A” and “S”. This selects the Auxiliary heat source operation. With the
jumper installed, the unit will function with an Auxiliary heat strip as normal. To activate Duel
Fuel mode, the jumper between terminals “A” and “S” should be removed. Once the Auxiliary
heat call is completed, a 5-minute cool down timer prevents the compressor from restarting on
a “Y1 or “Y2”” call until the time elapses. This allows time for the furnace to cool down so that
hot air does not cause high discharge pressure or a lockout condition when the compressor
restarts. The same 20-minute Auxiliary heat timer applies to dual fuel mode as well.
7) Thermostat Selection: The Nano-PLC is compatible with most heat/cool thermostats and zone
boards. The minimum requirement for the thermostat if to be a single stage heat/cool
thermostat. In this case, the Nano-PLC will control all staging functions such as second stage
and Auxiliary Heat as described above.
