Configure
MusicMatch
for Macs
Before you can start ripping music, you must con-
figure which encoding rate you want to use and
where the new files will be stored on your Mac.
MusicMatch includes a
CD Lookup
feature to
display track, album title, and artist information for
a music CD in your Mac’s CD drive. This feature is
possible when your Mac is connected to the
Internet, otherwise, each track is labeled with a
number.
The settings described in the following pages are
suitable for most users. If you require additional
information about MusicMatch Preferences, refer to
the MusicMatch Help.
1.
Open MusicMatch.
2.
Select the
Edit > Preferences
menu.
3.
Select the
Encoding
tab.
4.
In the
CD Quality
box near the top of the dia-
log, select
MP3 (128 kbps)
. At this Encoding
Quality, one minute of music requires about
one megabyte of memory storage.
5.
If desired, click the
Change
button and select
an alternate folder to specify where the new
MP3 files will be stored after they are converted.
