Setting up the network card
Naming your computer
To name your computer and workgroup:

Click
Start
, right-click
Network Places,
then click
Properties
. The
System
Properties
dialog box opens.

Click the
Identification
tab.

If you want to name your computer or change your computer’s name, type a
new name in the
Computer name
box. Each computer name on your
network must be unique. The computer’s name should be 15 characters or
less with no spaces.

If you want to enter a workgroup name, type the name in the
Workgroup
box. The workgroup name must be identical for all computers on your
network.

If you want to add an optional description for your computer, type the
description in the
Computer Description
box.

Click
OK
.

Repeat this process for each computer on your network to make sure that
they all have a unique computer name and identical workgroup name.
