Child Lock / Locking the control panel
To prevent from incidentally switching the hob ON
(e.g. by a child), you can lock the control panel as
follows:
-
Keep touching sensor no. 2 (Fig. 2) (lock) for at
least 2 seconds,
-
LED lighted next to the lock and a beep sound
confirm that the control panel is locked.
To unlock the control panel, proceed as follows:
-
Keep touching sensor no. 2 (Fig. 2) (lock) for at
least 2 seconds,
-
The LED next to the lock goes off and the beep
sound is emitted, confirming that the control
panel is unlocked.
Note: When the control panel is locked, none of the control functions can be performed, the
signaling LED goes on (next to the lock) and a beep is heard.
Residual heat indicator
The ceramic hob is provided with a residual heat indicator for every cooking zone.
Whenever “
H
” letter is displayed it shows that the cooking zone is still hot. You may use
the hot cooking zone to keep a dish warm or to melt chocolate coating. “
H
” letter goes off
when the cooking zone is sufficiently cooled down.
Using the heat of the burnt gas
GCH 5.01.SD/2 ceramic gas hob has areas using the heat of the burnt gas (warming up zones – see the
Construction of the hob, Fig. 1). The zones can be used for maintaining a dish warm. They can also be used for
cooking dishes in a roasting tin.
The warming up zone using heat of gas burnt on the cooking zone is a cooking zone working “for free”. By using
the warming up zones you may easily reduce the costs of hob operation.
When the cooking zones are under operation, the warming up zones and hot air outlet are hot
(touching them may cause burns, do not leave temperature-sensitive object like plastic objects on them).
During cooking avoid situations when food is boiling over and fats are splattered on the warming up
zones or hot air outlets as the residuals of food and fats may burn.
Such burns are best removed using a scraper for ceramic hobs (see section: Cleaning and routine
maintenance – Scraper for ceramic hobs).
The surface of the hob within the defined areas of the cooking zones, warming up zones and hot
air outlet is hot during cooking and for some time after the cooking process is finished, even though
the hob is OFF. It is signaled by “H” letter on the display. Therefore all the time when “H” letter is
displayed you should act with due care and avoid touching the cooking zones, warming up zones and
hot air outlets or putting heat-sensitive objects on them, e.g. plastic objects, to avoid burning.
Any failure of power makes the residual heat indicator to go off, therefore exercise due caution
in case of any failure in the supply of electric energy.
