Version 1.8
ArtNet/DMX512 Control
NOTE: The channel numbers mentioned in this section correspond with the default setting of the “ArtNet/DMX start channel#”
option, please see the “JCD Configuration – Network” section for further information.
JCD can also be used together with an ArtNet/DMX512 controller connected via either Wi-Fi or Ethernet. All “Basic System Control”
commands as well as a special combined “Absolute Focus and Zoom” control mode are available.
To execute a command, set channel #2 (“command”) to the command number (listed in “Basic System Control”) and set channel #1
(“execute”) to 255. The command is only executed once, you have to pull slider #1 down to 0 and then back up to 255 to execute it again.
Certain commands accept 16 bit arguments which are set by using the channel groups 3 / 4 / 5, 6 / 7 / 8, 9 / 10 / 11 and 12 / 13 / 14.
The first channel represents the high byte of the 16 bit value, the second channel represents the low byte.
Furthermore, some commands accept negative and / or decimal values as arguments. The third channel of each group („argument
modifier“) enables the representation of such values by setting it to one of these values:
-
0 - argument will be positive (default)
-
255 - argument will be negative
-
10 - argument will be divided by 10
-
245 - argument will be negative and divided by 10
There is also an instant execution mode where every change on the slider will result in a direct command execution – to switch to this
mode, set channel #1 to the value 128.
The combined “Absolute Focus and Zoom” control mode can be activated by setting channel #2 to 255 and channel #1 to 128. Here,
the channels for argument 1 are remapped to directly control zoom (channel #3) and focus (channel #4), basically operating like the
“Focus & Zoom Control” tab in the web interface.
NOTE: In the combined mode, the channels #5 – #14 are unused, there is no argument modifier and the values are only 8 bit wide.
