To use the TONE control:
In TONE mode, you can use the TONE control to distinguish different
metals. To do this, set the MODE switch to TONE, turn the volume control
to the middle position and the SENS control to 10.
This is how you exclude iron objects with the TONE controller:
Turn the DISC/TONE control to position 9-10 o'clock. Move an iron nail
5-8 cm above the centre of the search coil. A short "KO" "KO" sound will
be heard and the metal indicator will go off once. As soon as they move
other objects across the search coil, a beep sounds and the pointer goes
off once.
Use the same method and turn the DISC/TONE control to distinguish
other types of metal by tone.
Use the same method and turn the DISC / TONE control to distinguish a
particular metal by tone.
The difference between DISC and TONE mode is as follows: if a certain
metal object is excluded in DISC mode, the unit does not react at all,
whereas in TONE mode it reacts with a "KO" "KO" sound.
