E.8 REPLACING A BATTERY
(a) Switch the refrigerator OFF.
(b) Mark which wire goes to the positive terminal and which wire goes to the
negative terminal
(c) Disconnect the wires of the faulty battery at the battery terminals.
(d) Remove the faulty battery and replace it with a new one. The battery must be
of the same type as the old one.
(e) Reconnect the wires to the terminals of the new battery. Make sure that the
positive wire is connected to the positive terminal and that the negative wire is
connected to the negative battery terminal. If battery terminals of the wire
connections are dirty or greasy, clean them with a wire brush or steel wool
before connecting them.
(f) If more than one battery is used in the solar refrigerator ensures the
connections are correct as indicator below.
(g) Switch the refrigerator back ON again
