- Software Installation, Development, Synchronization
The WebDT 375 is amenable to software installation, development and synchronization through connection to a
host PC where the primary software resides. This is enabled by a USB cable-based connection between the host
PC and the USB Slave port on the cradle of the WebDT 375. Consider the following:
i) Install ActiveSync 3.5 or higher on host PC.
E.g.,
http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/pocketpc/downloads/activesync35.asp
ii) Install USB driver for WebDT 375 on host PC
(obtain as required from your device provider or use:
http://www.dtresearch.com/DT375_usb_update.exe ).
iii) Securely seat the WebDT 375 on the Cradle.
iv) Connect USB cable between WebDT 375’s Cradle and host PC.
v) Enable the USB connection by engaging the appropriate (#6, per Button Function Table) button on the
WebDT 375. The PC Connection window should appear indicating connection status or be accessible via
the corresponding icon on the System Tray.
vi) Use the ActiveSync application to select and initiate the files/software transfer.
vii) You may initiate the disconnect process by unplugging the USB cable.
NOTE
: Suspend/Resume or removing WebDT 375 from Cradle would turn off the connection between WebDT 375
and host PC. The Cradle Enable button (#6) needs to be used again to re-establish the connection.
- Software Update
The software on the WebDT 375 may be subject to occasional updates. There are two means to facilitate this
process.
NOTE:
It is advisable that you close all opened applications before performing the Update function.
(i) Through network adapter under OS
NOTE:
This feature is supported from the Control Panel, accessible by “Start > “Settings” > “Control Panel”.
Activate the “
Update
” icon in the Control Panel; the Update window will appear.
Select from the FTP or Local folder tabs depending on the location of the updating content. “Local” storage
includes CompactFlash (CF) card in CF slot, USB Flash Disk in USB port, and networked locations.
Provide appropriate information in the blank fields, click on “
Update
” button, and the device will be updated with
