Prevention-oriented early treatment
Harmful factors that have a lasting effect on facial
growth and tooth positions require
early preventive
treatment, i.e. prophylactic treatment.
Impairments include harmful sucking habits, dysfunc­
tions of the oral musculature ­ often associated with
general postural weaknesses.
With the
OrthoPreventAligner
® ­system, dysfunctions
such as open mouth posture, incorrect tongue rest po­
sitions, faulty swallowing and a muscularly weak lip clo­
sure are corrected. These are often associated with the
lower jaw distal bite (KL II). This also includes gapped
and protruding incisors as well as frontally open bites,
which result in speech disorders, restricted biting or
chewing. When the mixed dentition is treated early, later
therapy is usually unnecessary or considerably reduced
in severity.
