NOTE:
While calibrating, the detector must not be placed directly over a stud, dense material such as metal, or over a wet
or newly painter area, because they can lead to the calibration fail. If the calibration fails, the two stud detection LED will flash
fastly and the beeper will beep rapidly. Move to a different location and recalibrate.
5. Detecting Live AC Wire: After the calibration, move the detector, if it detects AC voltage within the defined detection range,
the live AC wire warning LED will illuminate and the beeper will beep rapidly. The DEC91 is designed to detect 110 ACV (for
USA version) and 230 ACV (for European version) in live electrical wires. It can also detect the presence of live wires which
having greater voltage than 230 ACV.
Warning:
Before using the NCV function, (1) Make sure the live AC wire warning LED is glowing, (2) Check detector on
a known live AC voltage that is within the defined detection range of the detector. Shielded wires or wires in metal conduits,
casings, metalized walls or thick, dense walls will not be detected. Always turn off AC power when working near wiring.
6. Low Battery Indication: Replace the battery if the green working LED is flash when the detector working. When the battery
are too low for reliable operation, the beeper will beep twice and the green working LED will turn off to indicate that the
detector is not operational. Replace the battery to restore operation.
5.3 Tips of Operation
• The ON/OFF button must remain pressed during the entire search process. Repeat several times to ensure the detection accuracy.
• To ensure best performance from the DEC91, keep your free hand at least 6 inches away from the detector and wall
