Press for 2 seconds or longer
• The starting screen appears, and then the
Home screen with screen locked appears
(P.413).
When you turn the power on for the fi rst time
Make the initial settings following to the
onscreen instructions (P.100).

Tap
• When the Home screen is set to
"TouchWiz Basic mode" or "TouchWiz Easy
mode", swipe (P.73) the screen up,
down, left or right until the screen lock is
unlocked. Tap
on the unlock screen to
check the area that can be canceled by
swiping.

Checking the radio wave condition
An icon indicating radio wave reception level
appears on the status bar (P.107).
When appears, you are out of Xi/FOMA
service area or in a place where the radio
wave cannot reach.
