Cleaning the Thermal Print Head
Attention
You must wait a minimum of 5 minutes before cleaning the thermal head to avoid severe burn injuries. Never use
water to clean the thermal head. You should only clean the print head if you are instructed to do so by technical
support.
Clean the thermal head if print quality has decreased and/ or you see hard lines in the middle of prints. Always clean the
platen roller first.
1.
Release the open lever and open the front cover.
2.
Remove the ribbon tray and set it aside.
3.
Remove the paper spools and set them aside.
4.
Locate the thermal head in the printer chassis. Look for the line where the orange and black strips meet on the head.
5.
Using the cleaning pen, swipe the thermal head in a side to side motion. Clean the entire length of the thermal head.
6.
If you see dirt or debris on the thermal head, use the thermal head wipe to clean only the dirty portion of the thermal
head.
7.
Wait at least 3 minutes for the head to dry, then replace the paper and ribbon.
8.
Close the printer securely and wait for the printer to initialize.
