Rear-Facing Installation with
Vehicle Belt - Without Base:
Level To Ground
With child secured in
child restraint, place
rear-facing in the back
seat. Make sure level line
on side of shell is level
to ground. Adjust child
restraint if needed.

Thread the vehicle lap
or lap/shoulder belt
combination through
shell’s belt path as
shown. Buckle vehicle
belt.

Lay your forearm across
child restraint at the
belt path while pulling
up on belt to tighten.
For a manual belt, refer
to “Knowing Your
Vehicle Belts” section.
Pull on shoulder strap
to remove any slack.

19-29” (48-74 cm).

Failure to securely attach child restraint to
base can result in serious injury or death.

To Adjust Base
(on select models):
Pull the adjustment lever
and either lift or lower
front of base.
If you have a non-
adjustable base, refer to
the “Troubleshooting”
section.

To Remove Seat from
Base:
Pull up on red base release
handle on back of child
restraint and lift child
restraint off base.
