5.4 Electrical connection
5.4.1 Power supply
The power supply is connected to the X1 terminals in the device
via a cable provided by the customer. L/N/PE
5.4.2 Bus connection to the heat pump manager
Cooling operation mode is added to the existing heat pump man-
ager by an electronic connection between the heat pump man-
ager and the cooling station (software update may be neces-
sary).
Connection is established on site with a screened 2x0.5mm²
cable at a maximum length of 50m. The connecting cable must
be connected according to the relevant connection matrix for the
heat pump manager:
NOTE
º
If used with reversible birne-to-water heat pumps, the "A-N17.1" bridge
on the passive cooling station must be removed.
The N17.1 and N17.3 extension modules have the addresses 1
and 3 respectively. The addresses are preset on the extension
module DIP switches.
5.5 Reversible brine-to-water heat pumps
In connection with reversible brine-to-water heat pumps an addi-
tional sensor (R24) must be installed in the common return of the
brine circuit. The sensor must be connected to terminal X3-R24.
6 Description of functions
The installation and operating instructions for the heat pump
manager and the project planning documentation must be ob-
served. In particular, the descriptions of the cooling functions
from the installation and operating instructions for the heat pump
controller apply in connection with the following supplements:
Cold is generated by switching the primary cooling pump (M12)
on or off. The heat pump compressor is not active and is there-
fore available for DHW preparation.
The parallel operation of cooling and domestic hot water prepa-
ration is activated in the heat pump manager settings.
Setting Parallel Cooling - DHW: Yes
also see the heat pump manager operating instructions
NOTE
º
Ensure that the special hydraulic installation requirements are fulfilled for
the parallel operation of cooling and DHW preparation (see project
planning documentation)
If parallel operation is not activated on the heat pump manager,
the requests will generally be processed according to the follow-
ing priority (in specific cases deviations are possible):
DHW
first
Cooling
first
Swimming pool
In the following cases, the primary pump for cooling (M12) will be
shut down for safety reasons:
The flow temperature falls below a value of 7°C
Activation of the dew point monitor at vulnerable points in
the cooling system
The cooling circulating pump (M17) operates continuously in
cooling operating mode.
The various functions of the primary circulating pump (M12, pri-
mary pump for cooling operation) and the heat circulating pump
(M13) can be set on the heat pump manager (see installation and
start-up instructions for technicians). Depending on the hydraulic
integration, the setting determines whether during cooling opera-
tion two primary circulating pumps (M11 and M12) run parallel or
whether the heat circulating pump (M13) also undertakes distri-
bution during cooling operation.
Setting Plant Pump Control also see the heat pump manager op-
erating instructions
